Apollo is a class that combines the three subjects of English, Art, and Social Studies into one. In Apollo, the students work on four projects about topics they pick throughout the time they're in Apollo. Each of these projects involves different thinking skills like perspective and reasoning.

My first project for the class was about a heist that happened in Iraq. Multiple people broke into the museum of Iraq and stole thousands of artifacts from it. For the English portion of the project I wrote a news article about the topic explaining it in detail. For the art portion of the project I created an online art gallery explaining the history behind some of the artifacts that were stolen.
This first project was tough because half way through I had to change my topic to the Iraq museum heist which made me restart all of my research and my thinking progress. It was also my first time being exposed into a learning environment like Apollo. Art Gallery: https://www.artsteps.com/curate/5d8374e5a1b1d0508b6c8754/1 |
For project two I focused on how the geometric shape of a pyramid can have healing properties. For the English portion of this project, I wrote a 5 page essay explaining how the pyramids were used to heal and how they can create energy. For the art portion of the project, I created 2 orgone pyramids with my father. My father makes these pyramids from time to time and is experimenting with different materials to see what outcomes they bring.
This project was very research heavy and took a lot of time to provide enough evidence of the pyramid energy. Even though it consumed a lot of time, it was fun to research a topic like this. Essay: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Mknf0fgmFEUKea_lqbtnPl-cozC-OMKzshbiCu-0oFI/edit?usp=sharing |
